Our firm offers a wide range of services to our individual and business clients. Because our firm is relatively small, our clients benefit by getting personalized, quality service that is beyond comparison.      Nutrition Consultant, Gorganic Education - Nutrition Literacy for the TDSB 
  • Saw need for, designed, and developed a TDSB Health and Physical Education curriculum-based workshop series for elementary schools. 
  • Children were engaged in interactive sessions including discussions, games and individual work on subjects such as food and body awareness, farming and manufacturing, transportation and environmental impact.  The workshops use physical activities as a way of embracing the nutrition literacy.
  • Worked with a TDSB teacher, completed a pilot of the workshops grades 1 through 4 running 6 classes over one month, exploring content and different materials used to convey the topics from the Healthy Living Strand.  Development is on-going and growing partnerships with schools and organizations is in progress.
     Community Nutritional Educator

    • First Nations Consultant – Weight Loss and Healthy Eating for the Our Time Our Health, Diabetes Prevention Conference hosted by The Chiefs of Ontario.  Taught seminars specifically developed for the Native Canadian Center Toronto – Eating on a Budget.  Developed a ‘Train-the-Trainer’ podcast for educating First Nations community health workers in remote areas of Ontario.
Volunteer and Charitable Experience                                                                                                                             2005 to 2010 

·         FoodShare Volunteer – Acting as conference facilitator for Recipe for Change, workshop lead for FoodShare Fun Day, workshop assistant for What Toronto Eats, Taste Testing for Good Food Café, Eat-In-Ontario and Animals in our Food System.  Plus cooking programs for grade 5/6.

 

·         Volunteer Coordinator – The Waldorf Academy – Alternative School for Arts and Academics.

 

Development Committee Member, Waldorf School - Developed gratitude policies for managing volunteers – thank you letters and hosting gratitude parties.  Implemented annual gift campaign, collaborating faculty Wish List with fundraising and donations.

Curriculum Vitae

    • Expert Participant – For www.welcometoparenting.ca and www.Parents2Parents.ca.  Will be providing online support and nutrition content for launch in August 2011 and September 2011.
    • Cooking Classes – Working closely with a chef, developed nutrition education for a ‘Food for Fitness’ cooking class.  Making this information current and relevant to athletes of all ages, this material focuses on what foods to eat for enhanced performance and why.  Describing how to capitalize on energy from food while at the same time learning how to make it at home.
    • Writer for Toronto Vegetarian Association – Column was called “Nutrient of the Month”.  Encompassing large range of topics on nutrients and vegetarian foods discussing health properties, recipes and how-to-cook.
